About us
"Here they are!" or "I'm glad you guys are here!"—these are some of the things our friends say whenever my sister and I show up at a social gathering. Dance has been a vital part of our lives growing up; we have always been surrounded by various forms of art, including dance, music, and theatre—you name it. Being born and raised in an artistic family has profoundly shaped who we are as adults.
As kids growing up in the urban areas of southwestern Nigeria, joining dance groups was the norm, and we were part of a few. Dance is arguably the most natural expression of who we are. At any event, we are usually the first on the dance floor, and sooner or later, others feel inclined to join in. Where there is music, there must be good vibes—and with dancing, good vibes are always guaranteed.
Now, to the heart of the matter: In recent years, after working in the corporate world and participating in various projects related to the European Union’s sustainable development goals, we came to realize the importance of team building and respecting colleagues, regardless of their socio-cultural backgrounds—especially within culturally diverse groups. Currently, the EU is encouraging companies to make sustainability a central part of their policies, particularly in the areas of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).
Focusing on the Social aspect—Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I)—of the EU's sustainability plan, it dawned on us that dance could be a powerful tool for promoting DE&I and supporting the EU’s goals for social sustainability. Since our core strength lies in Afro-centric dance, we decided to leverage this expertise by developing a concept to share African culture through its music and dance styles. Our idea is to offer Afro dance workshops to companies interested in incorporating such activities into their ESG initiatives. Hence our motto:
"Dance, Listen, Learn"
